Custom packaging is the second-biggest brand impression after the product itself. For e-commerce, the unboxing moment is the customer's first physical experience with your brand — a generic brown box ships a different message than a printed brand box. For retail, custom boxes signal premium positioning and command higher prices.

What to know before you order.
Roll-end tuck boxes (e-commerce standard)
Roll-end tuck-end boxes auto-lock at the bottom and tuck closed at the top. The default e-commerce packaging format because they ship flat (cheap to inventory) and assemble in 5 seconds. Used by cosmetics, supplements, food brands, soap makers, and tech accessories. Standard sizes are dimensioned by inner product size (your soap bar dimensions, your bottle profile, etc.).
Sales presentation boxes (B2B + luxury)
Heavier-stock boxes with rigid construction, used for high-end product launches, sample kits, branded gift sets, and B2B prospect mailers. Common configuration: outer box with magnetic closure, interior tray, custom foam insert holding the product. More expensive per piece but reads as premium.
Cube boxes (small + gift)
Square-format boxes for small accessories, jewelry, branded gifts, candle sets, and tea/coffee kits. 3x3x3, 4x4x4, and 6x6x6 are standard sizes. Window cut-outs available for product visibility.
When custom dimensions are worth the setup fee
Custom dies for non-standard box dimensions add a $75-200 one-time setup fee. Worth it when (a) your product doesn't fit a standard size cleanly (gaps look amateurish), (b) you're committing to 500+ box orders so the setup amortizes, or (c) your packaging IS your branding (cosmetics, supplements, luxury goods). For commodity products with low volume, use standard sizes.

What's the minimum order on custom boxes?
50 boxes is our minimum on most box formats. Per-piece cost drops sharply at 250, 500, and 1,000 quantities. Most direct-to-consumer brands order 250-500 at a time for new product launches; 1,000-5,000 for repeat orders.
Can I print on the inside of the box too?
Yes — inside and outside printing in full color is standard. Many brands use the inside surface for thank-you messaging, care instructions, or social media handles. Adds ~10-20% to single-side pricing.
How long do custom boxes take to produce?
Standard production is 7-10 business days (slightly longer than business cards or postcards due to the die-cut and folding steps). Rush production available at +50-100% upcharge. Plan ahead — boxes are not a same-day product.
Do you handle custom die-cuts for non-standard sizes?
Yes — custom dies are $75-200 one-time fee depending on complexity. The die is kept on file for reorders at no additional cost. Most luxury and cosmetics brands have at least one custom-dimension box in their lineup.
What stock are your boxes made from?
Default is 18PT or 24PT SBS (Solid Bleached Sulfate) — the food-grade clay-coated cardboard standard. Heavier 28PT-32PT chipboard is available for rigid presentation boxes. Eco-friendly Kraft is available for natural-feel branding.
Can you do windowed boxes for product visibility?
Yes — clear PET window panels are available on tuck boxes and cube boxes. Common for soap, candles, food products where visual merchandising matters. Adds $0.10-0.30 per box depending on window size.
