Which paper stock is right for you?
14PT Gloss Cover (C2S) is the industry default — premium-feeling without aggressive thickness, vivid color reproduction, the cheapest path to a card that looks professional. 16PT C2S is the next step up — noticeably thicker, signals quality without crossing into "marketing flashy." 32PT Painted Edge and 32PT Suede are luxury territory — for high-ticket service businesses where the card is part of the brand experience. Pick the stock that matches the price point of what you sell.
How many should you order?
Most small business owners order 500 cards at a time — enough for 6-12 months at typical handout rates, and far cheaper per-card than 100 or 250 quantities. Active salespeople, real estate agents, and trade-show staff often order 1,000-2,500 for steeper per-unit savings. Order quantity should match your actual handout rate, not your aspirations. Finishing options that matter
UV coating (gloss or matte) is included on most stocks for protection. Silk laminate adds a soft-touch feel without shine — popular with lawyers and financial advisors. Spot UV highlights specific design elements with a raised glossy area. Foil (gold, silver, holographic) is the most premium accent. Each finish adds cost; pick what matches your card's purpose.
Design rules that actually drive callbacks
Cards with QR codes are kept 3-4x longer than cards without — but only when the QR target rewards the scan (LinkedIn, video, calculator, calendar booking). The phone number and your one-line value prop should be the largest text. Keep the back of the card useful — service list, testimonial, or call-to-action. The 8-second test: hand the card to a stranger and ask "what do I do, and what would you do to follow up?" If they hesitate, redesign.

What's the cheapest business card stock?
14PT Gloss Cover (C2S) is our lowest-cost stock at industry-standard quality. 500 cards full color both sides starts at $32.50. We don't carry "bargain" 10PT or 12PT stocks because they feel flimsy and undermine your brand — 14PT is the floor for professional-grade cards.
Can I get same-day business cards?
Same-day production is available on standard stocks (14PT C2S, 16PT C2S, 14PT Uncoated) when ordered before 11am Pacific. Premium stocks (Suede, Painted Edge, Foil Worx) require next-business-day production minimum. Shipping is separate — same-day production means the cards leave the press today, but cross-country UPS Ground adds 2-5 business days for delivery.
How fast does the rush turnaround actually arrive?
Production timing is separate from shipping. Next-business-day production means cards print and ship within 24 hours; arrival depends on your distance from our fulfillment facility (Glendale CA or Dallas TX). LA, San Diego, Phoenix get next-day ground. Texas next-day. Most major US cities arrive within 2-4 business days after production.
Do you print double-sided business cards?
Yes — every business card stock is configurable as 4/0 (front only, full color) or 4/4 (both sides, full color). 4/4 typically adds $5-15 to a 500-card run depending on stock. Same-day production is available on 4/4 orders.
Can I order business cards without uploading a design?
Yes — use our in-browser design editor with hundreds of free templates, custom fonts, and AI image generation. Templates are sorted by industry (real estate, restaurants, salons, contractors, etc.) for fast configuration. No Photoshop required.
What if I need cards with different names but the same design?
Variable-data printing is supported — upload one design file and a CSV with names, phone numbers, etc. We print the run with the variable fields populated per-card. Common use case: a brokerage ordering 50 agents' worth of cards in a single run for compounding volume discount.
